WE LIVE UNDER THE SUN & DREAM UNDER THE MOON
The Moon comes home to its Native Sign Cancer to grace us with some much-needed TLC, as Cancer is the caretaker of the zodiac – sacrificing its own needs for the benefit and well-being of others.
Luckily, we have the Sun, Moon, Mars and Mercury all joining in on the Cancer train entering the Seventh House of Partnerships. And so, while this sign governs our immediate environment within the home, this energy will spread out into our closest relationships as well. We may feel clingier than usual, needing that extra sense of validation within our place with others, especially in how they see us.
As Cancer is in an incredibly intuitive sign, as well as it's natural ruler the Moon governing psychic ability, the sub conscious, and dreams, we will feel even more empathetic than usual within our relationships. We can tap into the feelings of others – sensing their thoughts and often reacting to what we know they feel, and not what they express.
We will go by what we feel, rather than what we know, and even if we are overcome with emotional extremes, there is some sense of sub conscious understanding in the method behind our own madness. What you suppress will be asking to be released, depending on your relationships with others, as well as yourself, will dictate how this flow of emotion will go.
The energy is rather sensitive, spiking our vulnerabilities and intuition within the realm of our emotions. Cancer Moon behaves in many ways – all depending on the emotional responses that are triggered by the environment. We want to feel close, safe, needed, and we want to feel loved, and if that is not available within our relationships or surroundings, then we make waves, either lashing out and making our point heard, or quietly until each small wave builds up the empowering force to influence the changes we need.
Relationships may be overcome with a heaviness of possessive and protective energy – your hunches are emotionally charged, and while Cancer is a very psychic sign, it often confuses its intuition with emotional reactions, especially when it's sense of security in in questions, or vulnerabilities are exposed. Before coming unglued because jealousy strikes in your relationships, or issues stir up within your home, try and sit for a moment to reflect on what you are feeling.
With the karmic and soul planets in retrograde (Saturn, Neptune & Pluto), we can dive even deeper into our own unconsciousness and the hidden realms that lie within us. The New Moon compliments these planetary energies with asking very important questions in concern of self, home, and your relationships:
How well do you take care of yourself, spiritually and emotionally?
Are you honoring your feelings, and being authentic in your emotional expression?
Do others honor your emotions and respect your boundaries?
Regardless of your answer, the time is just right to facilitate the gifts this New Moon brings you in applying change in the areas that need improvement.
The New Moon is a time to start new projects, adopt new perspectives, and to of course let go of what is weighing you down from your artistic, intuitive, emotional and loving expression. Cancer retreats to its home where it can feel safe and comforted within familiar or soul-soothing surroundings – and the New Moon wants to ensure that you adapt these Cancerian qualities into your relationships, emotional well-being, and your home, so you can feel safe to come out and share your love, gifts and talents with the World.
“Don’t fence me in.” Cries the Full Moon when it rests within the placement of Sagittarius. Backed with a Gemini Sun, the need for freedom is even stronger, so is the sense of adventure in stepping onto new ground. There is no time for limiting beliefs or strings to hold you down when the World beckons to be explored.
Limitations or boundaries seem to disappear when the moon enters Sagittarius. That sense of restlessness which came when the New Moon was in Gemini, is amplified now that it is Full and in Sagittarius, illuminating the energy of the nomadic philosopher. There is a need for movement, but a lack in direction, which makes it difficult to know where to place all of this stagnate and built up energy. All this expansion and need for growth also comes from Jupiter moving direct in Libra on June 9th, the same day of the Full Moon. I would say that this energy feels much like the aspiring artist moving away from their home and all they have known for the sake of finding themselves and harnessing their craft.
That does not mean that all relationships come to an end, or that lover’s drift apart; some will come closer as their limiting beliefs of vulnerability and being overly guarded will change. This moon is freedom loving, but once it finds a soul mate to run wild with, the journey becomes more exciting when shared. This is a time of both marriage, commitments, and separation for better direction. Whatever path is chosen, it is for the sake of expansion and adventure towards a new chapter or era. So, another analogy which also matches the energy of this Full Moon is the Casanova finally committing to a life partner – their ideals on love and lust have grown to a new and more evolved understanding, and so they are ready for a new adventure in exploring new cycles.
This isn’t just for relationships, however this area is highlighted thanks to the Libra energy with Jupiter and the Sagittarius Moon being an amplifier, but there is something within your life this Full Moon is trying to break you free from, and that can be a current situation or your own limiting beliefs which keep you constricted to a foundation which is no longer able to support your expansion that Jupiter promises.
Vision & Insight
The energy of the Full Moon is very nomadic, not because it is lost, rather it seeks adventure and new experiences. There is a need to explore beyond what is currently in front of you.
While this Full Moon brings a lot of luck, growth and reward with it, it does first subject you to challenges and tasks to prove yourself worthy enough to walk through the gates of your new era in cycles and evolution.
Fix your eyes the bigger picture, and try not to be so focused at what is happening right in front of you – see beyond it and know there is a reason for all. You cannot tame the wild Sagittarius, but you can learn surrender to its energy and use the flow to empower your choices and movements, as that is where the intellectual power of man meets the primal actions of the beast.
Ready, Aim & Fire...
The best aspect of this Full Moon energy is the ability to reach for higher goals and having an idealistic and positive influence in seeing them as approachable. Sagittarius is the sign of moving beyond limitations and shows new heights and possibilities available.
Those intentions you had set for the previous New moon in Gemini is now amplified with the Full Moon in Sagittarius.
The ground is not yet stable enough to start on big investments or cashing in from our efforts, but it is coming. We are still in the incubation period, but the eye of the storm has left, and so we can see the sun as it rejuvenates us towards our new era. The target is visible, and the winds no longer threaten to misdirect your aim - regain your focus.
How to Work With the Full Moon Energy
The energy is very carefree and enthusiastic. You might bite off more you can chew if you choose to sign contracts or make big purchases, or even lending money, as there is a high chance you will not get what you sign up for. Lending money will often go unpaid, and you might be too focused on the positive when making deals or investments – practicality is needed with the energy of this Full Moon and the influence it has on us. Rather than spending money, put your focus on how you make some instead. This is a very energetic time for the mind in reaching further into the realm of ideas that are made of gold.
Lots of exorcise! Help release the stagnate energy and heal your restlessness with a good workout. Yoga or pilates, workouts that focus on the hips and flexibility are most beneficial. Even walking outside with nature would be beneficial and naturally grounding.
Family & Friends
Travel is likely as well, such as camping or even taking a day trip out in nature. If you are staying in to unwind, then throw a get-together with those you love and enjoy the most.
There might be disputes about the need for freedom and expression. Passion is highlighted, and many lovers will come closer after reconciliation, while others might need their independence and drift to a different direction. This is a time of marriage, and a time of finding a different path, either separately or together.
This is a great time to practice astral travel and reaching out to the different realms. This Sagittarius Moon is all for broadening your knowledge in your spiritual studies and trying new things that will elevate and expand the gifts you already have. Your mind might be too restless for your regular quiet meditation, but adding something new in the mix like crystals, trying to achieve something such as astral travel or accessing the akashic records, would help make it more interesting.
