WE LIVE UNDER THE SUN & DREAM UNDER THE MOON
The hard working and detailed-oriented sign of Virgo takes the reins of emotional and deep-sensing Moon, as well as still has control of the Sun. We also have many of the core planets: Mercury, Venus and Mars joining in, transiting within Virgo as well. While Virgo and Venus do not get along, since Virgo is too sensible and prefers being useful for the ones they love, over romanticism, we can consider the other planets working with this detail-oriented energy in giving us a leg-up on projects and goals we have been wanting to work on.
This is a prime time to focus on the details of certain goals you have been wanting to bring to life, as this Virgo energy is ideal in making sense of the dreams and intuitive callings which the Pisces Full Moon had stirred within us recently. Virgo will dig deep to bring the facts towards the surface of your understanding, in how you can make big plans happen with the perfect brain-storming tactics.
Virgo doesn’t have time to stop and smell the roses, as the period it rules is considered our Harvest Season, where our ancestors often had to work the hardest to ensure survival during the harsh winter months. So, this is a great energy to work with in cultivating and bringing forth your efforts towards something much higher that will serve you in the long-term. As Virgo’s motto is, Work hard and play later. As the sun transitions into Libra within the following days of this New Moon, we will be graced with a much-needed pause to bring some creative flair into our projects and goals, and also indulge in the fruits from our labor.
"And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of 12 stars. She was pregnant and was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth."
- Revelations 12:1-2
Now, before we get any further, I do want to bring attention to one major misconception that is going around in terms of a “bible prophecy”. The world is NOT going to end on September 23, 2017.
We can thank this Virgo energy to think critically, and not to take in facts without first doing our own research, also, there is a powerful Mars-Neptune opposition which is ideal for intuitive insight, and seeing beyond the smoke and mirrors when it comes to calling out deception and misinformation. I have taken a little time to research some of these articles floating around by mainstream media outlets, and have found that many are incorrect about Jupiter being in Virgo – it will be in Libra, and has been since September 12th. Keep in mind that when we go looking for signs, we can often find them because perspective will persuade common sense in connecting dots, when logically the dots are not there.
I would say that this Moon is getting us ready for a mass-scale awakening as Virgo never takes anything at face value, and aren’t keen on believing in something that does not make “perfect sense”, as Virgo has an uncommon amount of common sense, and is probably the most logical and critical to details, than all the zodiac. This is a good time to consider the imperfections within the structures which lead us – within ourselves, and also within our environment.
Virgo is all about higher-awareness and will serve as the skeptic we all need when sometimes "seeing is truly believing", they are great at debunking illusions which create mass hysteria. When everyone is convinced a ghost had moved an object, Virgo will be the first to consider the wind or other realistic perspectives before getting swept away.
So while this alignment in Virgo is rare, happening once every 7,000 years, we mustn’t allow an obvious “hidden agenda” to cast a sense of fear towards this powerful event which is to help us rise above a system that doesn’t work, and to set better habits for one that will. There always seems to be some sort of “end of the world” prophecy during an alignment which is meant for ascension, and so this is to aid in lowering the vibrational frequency of the collective during a time that is meant to aid in raising it.
The dreamy Pisces Full Moon pairs up with a Virgo Sun which is a recipe of success in making big dreams come true. While the Pisces Moon brings us divine inspiration, the Virgo sun gives the fuel and practicality needed to set these ideas into motion.
The cosmos are rather gentle this week, compared to the sh*t storm we experienced in August. We are given a chance to wind down and reflect on the things which should be pulled out and given life. This isn’t a time for action – even though Mercury goes direct just the day before, we do have a Sun-Neptune opposition which takes us further into our head… or dreams, rather. This is a time of deep reflection of the plans or goals that do need our action. We are gifted this gentle Full Moon to give to ourselves, what we constantly give to others - our energy, & our compassion.
Not only is this an extremely artistic moon, but it is also empathetic and compassionate one, and backed with the Virgo Sun which is focused on service and helping others, makes the need to be needed even, even more... needier. The ability to tune in and read people, or hidden energies, is amplified. This is good, as well as could possibly be bad. While we can truly help someone in need, we risk absorbing too much and actually taking on their sorrow and stress. Pisces is a sign that needs space to spend time alone, as is Virgo, and that is because they both have a challenging time with setting boundaries when it comes to saving others. They take on too much and do not set limits to what they will give, and sometimes the people who take from them, don’t either. This is a cause for fatigue and feeling emotionally or mentally imbalanced.
This Full Moon wants us to know that we can only give to others, what we give to ourselves. You cannot feed the hungry, if you are also hungry & without any food. Take time for you to replenish your vital force.
Another added bonus to this Moon energy is the opposition with Sagittarius who is within Neptune’s visionary and idealistic presence, and Pisces also rules Neptune. This opposing force adds onto the creative and very psychic energy. We can thank the Sun in Virgo for giving us a sense of grounding, otherwise we would all be floating off the face of their earth within our daydreams.
Here are some tips to help you make the most of this Full Moon:
Spend Time Alone to Meditate & Ponder
Decompress and seclude yourself from any interaction. This is a prime time to be alone with your thoughts. Pisces is all about having that *bubble time*. This is a great moon for diving deep into your mind and pulling out those long-term goals or big dreams that you have been wishing to accomplish *one day*. Keep a notepad near you and spend time alone so you can be with your thoughts, uninterrupted. Meditation is often hard for some people to do because they can’t seem to get their mind clear enough for it. Focus on your breathing, or lie crystals on you and focus on their vibrations. This will help you become present.
Take a Spiritual Bath
Pisces is a water sign and its symbol is the fish. Naturally, Pisceans are drawn to big bodies of water, and of course we all know how the Moon has such a strong effect on water as its gravitational pull makes waves. Spiritual baths are one of the best ways to cleanse and charge your physical and spiritual body. You can use Epsom or Himalayan salt with essential oils, crystals, candles, etc. Turn the lights down low and listen to some meditation music, or take your notepad with you and write out your dreams. Baths can be relaxing, as well as inspiring – as you release all the energetic gunk, you open space for the divine.
This Moon is ideal for artists. You will most likely feel more creative, or even a need to express your deepest emotions. This won’t be done with mere speech alone – but with art. Dig deep inside and channel your inner-feelings through a creative outlet. Draw, color, paint, write, sing… whatever artistic passion you have, immerse yourself into it.
